RT correspondent in Iraq reported, on Friday, that the electricity went out in a number of southern governorates.
Our correspondent stated that the electricity went out in the governorates of Dhi Qar, Basra and Maysan.
He added, that preliminary information indicates that the causes of the extinguishing are due to a fire at the Basra gas station.
The power outage exacerbates the suffering of Iraqis, which coincides with a strong heat wave that dominates the country.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity had announced earlier a state of public alert in the face of the heat wave in anticipation of an increase in demand or the occurrence of malfunctions.
